Welcome!

Welcome to my website and portfolio. My name is Karen, and I'm an illustrator and graphic designer. I'm also a multimedia designer, portrait artist, and storyteller.

On this website, I'll try to offer you a peek into what I do. Since I won't have everything online at any one time, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to see something specific (or done in a certain medium or software program).

I'm always happy to make new friends, and I've met many wonderful people online (including my darling husband, many years ago). So, please explore and stay in touch. Thank you for visiting!

What Kind of Portfolio is This?

Although I do work with traditional media such as oils, charcoal, and ink... I'm primarily a digital artist. To be honest, I'm a bit of a geek. I've worked for both Dell and Apple, and have been the Mac support person for an advertising agency. I love working with computers of all kinds -- but I'm still an artist.

Much of my my work is done with my 12x12 Wacom tablet and Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, and/or Adobe Illustrator. Multimedia is a lot of fun for me, and I enjoy interactive projects as much as print work. I'm quite a big fan of Director and Premiere, and occasionally work with Flash. My layout work is done primarily in Adobe InDesign.

My portfolio is a collection of all of these things, because it's the best way to show what I can do. Perhaps someday, I'll focus my online portfolio towards a specific 'style' -- but, for now, this is what works best for me.

Please contact me to request printed or digital samples of my work or to request my phone contact information.
